This course presents two specific topics found in the 2020 Minnesota residential code and the Wisconsin Uniform Dwelling Code for structural comparison and energy codes envelope criteria. The course keys in on subject matters that are similar and unique to each state. Multiple illustrations and examples are used for clarification and interpretation.
Course OutlineIn order to receive continuing education credit(s), you will need to take a 10-question quiz after each hour of the course. To pass each quiz, you will need to achieve a score of 70% or higher. If you are unsuccessful, you will have an opportunity to repeat the quiz. Once you have successfully completed the course, you can download your continuing education certificate(s) showing the credit(s) that you have earned.
This course has been approved for two hours of MN residential contractor, remodeler, and roofer continuing education by the Minnesota Department of Labor & Industry, and two hours of WI Dwelling Contractor Qualifier continuing education by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.

Greg is the owner of Code Educational Opportunities and has an extensive background in developing and presenting all types of building code and related courses. Most recently, he was a building official for the City of Winona, MN. As a staff Instructor with the International Code Council and as a building code representative with the State of Minnesota Codes and Standards Division, He has traveled locally, throughout the United States, and abroad providing training to contractors, building officials and inspectors, design professionals, and other individuals with a vested interest in the codes. Greg served as an adjunct faculty in the Building Inspection Technology program at Inver Hills Community College in MN. In previous career paths, he has worked in the lumber industry, truss industry, and as a general contractor. Greg holds certifications as an ICC and State of MN Certified Building Official, ICC Plans Examiner, ICC Building Inspector, and ICC Building Code Specialist. Greg holds a certificate of completion in the Building Inspection Technology program as well as background and education in the architectural drafting field.
